DESCRIPTION:he 3rd Berlin FediDay is a networking event for people in the 
 Fediverse. Through talks\, workshops and networking opportunities\, we aim
  to spread knowledge about the Fediverse\, promote creative solutions and 
 strengthen dialogue between developers\, admins\, academia\, civil society
  and content creators. With over 70 sessions across three halls\, a worksh
 op room and several cosy meeting spots stretching from the banks of the Sp
 ree to the roof terrace\, FediDay is the largest conference dedicated to a
 lternative social networks. It will take place from 11 to 13 September at 
 c-base in Berlin.\n\nWe are convinced that a decentralised and free networ
 k is the best way to establish a sustainable alternative to Big Tech. This
  is the only way to enable democratic exchange without being dependent on 
 platforms controlled by profit-driven monopolists\, which use algorithmica
 lly generated timelines to serve us adverts\, promote right-wing baiting o
 r hide content they find objectionable.\n\nOur aim is therefore to establi
 sh and expand a strong network that brings together expertise and encourag
 es and empowers participants to remain actively involved after the event a
 nd to support each other’s projects. Together\, we want to further stren
 gthen the Fediverse in German-speaking countries and across Europe\, and p
 rovide a platform that fosters exchange and cooperation within the communi
 ty.\n\nPerhaps you’re already active on Mastodon\, Pixelfed or PeerTube.
  Perhaps you develop applications yourself or are involved with decentrali
 sed social networks for activist reasons\, for research purposes\, or as a
  platform for sharing your art. Whether you’re a power user or completel
 y new\, the programme offers everything you’d expect from a good hacker 
 conference\, from beginner’s workshops to panel discussions and parties.
