InstallFest is a meetup where beginners connect with experienced Linux users who help with installing GNU/Linux and solving more advanced problems. The event is organized by the Silicon Hill club and, in addition to hands-on installation help, also offers talks and lectures. It is possible to participate both in person and online.
The roots of InstallFest go back to the United States, where Linux enthusiasts began gathering to help each other install the system. Early events often took place in libraries, with people bringing their own computers, sometimes rare or unusual models, while more experienced users guided newcomers.
