Organised under the theme of “turning EU open source ambitions into reality”, the 2027 Summit, looks at how the European Commission's Open Source Strategy can be put into practice. Discussions will cover how the EU can reduce its technological dependency while being an active contributor to global cooperation, keep its existing digital businesses competitive and help new ones grow, and support the open source ecosystem in reaching these aims.

The EU Open Source Policy Summit is OpenForum Europe’s annual flagship policy event. It brings together the people shaping Europe’s digital agenda to examine how open source and open innovation fit into the EU’s legislative and policy priorities.

Participants include key policymakers from the European Commission’s Directorates-General, such as CONNECT, GROW, DIGIT, BUDG, and COMP, Members of the European Parliament, industry leaders, public sector experts, and open source professionals.
